MOVIE AND SOMETIMES TV REVIEW
Frankenstein is the movie
we’re breaking down in our review.
Some trailers may not be suitable for all ages.
Synopsis:
Here is a brief synopsis of what to expect from our January/February pick. The story follows Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but highly egotistical scientist obsessed with the concepts of life and death. After his successful experiment brings a monstrous creature to life, the events that follow ultimately lead to the ruin of Victor, his creation, and the lives of those around them both.

So, what do we think:
Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein is a visually stunning reimagining of Mary Shelley's classic tale, favoring emotional depth over the shock value of many modern-day horror films. The film delves into themes of isolation, creation, and responsibility, striking a careful balance between traditional gothic horror and genuinely compelling drama. In doing so, it casts the iconic monster in an almost human light, making the story feel both haunting and deeply affecting. We consider this to be our favorite movie of 2025 and highly encourage everyone to check it out.
